In Autheuil, a particularly precise look into the town’s history leads to the Église Notre-Dame d’Autheuil: built in the 12th century, the church is considered the oldest and best-preserved Romanesque church in the Perche.

The Église Notre-Dame d’Autheuil has a Latin cross-shaped floor plan with an apse, transept and secondary apse. It also has a Renaissance door leading to the sacristy. From 15 April to 15 October, the church is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
The Demeure de La Forge in Autheuil was initially a wire-drawing works and later a fish farm. Robert Giffard was born in Autheuil and recruited settlers in the area around Tourouvre for New France.
The Manoir de Bellegarde in the vicinity of Autheuil is listed in the supplementary register of historic monuments. From May to September, it offers free visits, as well as guided tours during the same period by prior reservation.
Nature
Les hauts d’Autheuil is an easy 8 km circular trail with a duration of around two hours and 120 metres of ascent.
The circular trail is certified by the French Hiking Federation and can also be cycled by mountain bike. Les hauts d’Autheuil also follows in the footsteps of Robert Giffard.
In the area around Autheuil, the circular trail introduces visitors to the protected Tourbière de Commeauche in a clearing in the Réno-Valdieu Forest. There, distinctive flora characteristic of such habitats develops on four metres of peat; visits are possible exclusively with a guide.

Autheuil’s P’tit Festival lasts for one week and combines concerts, festivities, conferences and further opportunities to discover Autheuil’s cultural wealth.
