The Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin is an interpretation centre dedicated to the history of Villedieu-les-Poêles. It presents the town’s architectural and cultural heritage in six staged, interactive rooms.

History and craftsmanship

The Atelier du Cuivre was founded in 1850 and is one of the oldest copper workshops still in operation. During a guided tour, visitors can watch live demonstrations of tinning, raising and hammering.

The Cornille Havard bell foundry was established in Villedieu-les-Poêles in 1865, when Adolphe Havard had a workshop built there. There are still three bell foundries for church bells in operation in France. At the end of a visit to the Cornille Havard bell foundry, visitors can ring bells in the foundry courtyard.
