The visitable garden Le Jardin de la Chevallerie is located at 23 route de la Chevallerie in Sourdeval-les-Bois, 50450 Gavray-sur-Sienne. Le Jardin de la Chevallerie contains more than 400 plant species. The 2026 visitor programme includes live performances featuring musicians, singers, slam poets, storytellers and painters, as well as introductory workshops in watercolour painting and drawing.
Culture
The present-day Church of Saint-Pierre de La Haye-Comtesse was built in 1845 and has an openwork lantern tower. The first Church of Notre-Dame de La Haye-Comtesse was donated to Lessay Abbey around a millennium ago. The Moulin de Sourdeval is also part of the local history: it bears witness to the historically significant use of the river by humans. As part of the Mills Day, usually held in June, the owners of the Moulin de Sourdeval opened the mill to visitors every year.
Hiking
Hiking route no. 11 in Sourdeval-les-Bois is 13 km long and takes approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. It is marked in blue and classified as a route without difficulties. The car park at the village hall towards the church is recommended as the starting point for hiking route no. 11.
