Saint-Lô-D'ourville: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nature and coast

South of the Havre de Port-Bail, the Lindbergh dunes in the municipality of Saint-Lô-d'Ourville form an 80-hectare dune massif. This area is particularly rich in amphibians and frogs around the ponds; eleven amphibian species have been recorded there.

The 2026 bathing season at Lindbergh-Plage runs from 15 June to 15 September. Lindbergh-Plage is also designated as the bathing water site of Saint-Lô-d'Ourville.

The Lindbergh dunes are said to have been named after Charles Lindbergh, who is believed to have flown over this area in 1927 on his way to the airfield at Lessay.

Renting a holiday apartment in Saint-Lô-d'Ourville can be part of your personal travel planning.

Culture and history

The Manoir du Parc is partially listed as a Monument historique. The main residential building was constructed from around 1400, extended between 1500 and 1540, and completed around 1600.

The Manoir du Parc comprises a complete manorial complex: a manor house protected by a defensive wall with outbuildings, a chapel, a dovecote, a cider press, moats, a fishpond, a walled garden and agricultural buildings in an enclosed courtyard.

The parish church of Saint-Lô in Saint-Lô-d'Ourville contains a set of two figurative stained-glass windows depicting Saint Sebastian and Saint Marie-Madeleine Postel. The organ of Ourville was built in 1854 by the Bataille brothers, organ builders in Saint-Nicolas-de-Pierrepont, and restored in 1912.

Paths and community life

The easy, 9 km nature walk “Entre havre et dunes de Lindbergh” leads to several points of interest, including the Vierge de la Rivière in Saint-Lô-d'Ourville.

At low tide or when the tidal coefficient is low, the GR®223 crosses a footbridge in the village of Les Rivières and then follows Quai Aubert to the centre of Port-Bail.

For the local heritage, Mémoire et Patrimoine de Saint-Lô-d'Ourville regularly organises concerts, exhibitions and guided tours of the church windows to raise funds for the local heritage.
