Saint-Denis-Le-Gast: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The project for a stained-glass window dedicated to commemorating those who died in the war, or a “Chapelle du souvenir”, was initiated on 18 December 1919. Saint-Denis-le-Gast is also the birthplace of Charles Le Marquetel de Saint-Denis, who was born there in 1616. Views of the church of Saint-Denis-le-Gast dated to the 15th, 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved.

Hiking Trails

The Le Saint-Evremond circular trail is 12 kilometres long and is designed for a walking time of approximately 3 hours. It starts at the Place de l'église in the direction of Gavray; after 150 metres, turn off and follow the trail markers. A former tithe barn is located 50 metres from the Le Saint-Evremond circular trail. Under the Ancien Régime, it was used to store the agricultural tithes collected.

Townscape

The centre of Saint-Denis-le-Gast is laid out as a typical linear village of the region, with adjoining houses. The houses were designed according to the same model and are known as “à la Coutançaise”. There is a water point in the village square; picnic tables are located near the church.
