Les Veys: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Les Veys is a picturesque village on the Baie des Veys. The natural heritage of the Cotentin and Bessin marshes and the Baie des Veys includes vegetation, birds, migratory fish and seals; for this reason, these landscapes are part of the Natura 2000 network.

Culture and History

An important historical site is the Manoir de Cantepie. Its main construction phases date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Parts of the manor are listed as a historic monument; the listing took place on 26 August 1988. The protected elements include the façades and roofs of the residential building, the two fully preserved stair towers, two 17th-century fireplaces, the façades and roofs of the outbuildings, and the remains of the entrance tower.

The Ancien corps de garde bears witness to the coastal defences of the Cotentin during the Ancien Régime. It has been listed as a historic monument since 14 September 1992.

The Église Saint-Martin de Beuzeville in Les Veys dates from the 12th to the 18th century. This church, associated with Les Veys, contains the sculptural group “Saint Christophe portant l'Enfant”. It dates from around the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and was discovered behind the main altar in 1929.

The cemetery of Beuzeville, formerly part of the municipality of Les Veys, contains the tomb of Antoine-Charles Touzard. It is shaped like a curved sarcophagus with an eight-sided sloping roof, rests on two plinths, and is made of cut and engraved Caen limestone.

The Chapelle Saint-Guingalois stands in the locality of La Blanche; it was formerly a church of Auville-sur-le-Vey dating from the 14th to the 16th century. The exterior walls of the Église Saint-Martin feature herringbone masonry, indicating its original fabric.

The Chemin du Vey Mourant is a signposted trail measuring 11 km, with a stated duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The Pont du Vey is a lock bridge over the Vire with seven floodgates.
