Nature and Landscape
La Pernelle offers one of the finest views over the Val de Saire. The view stretches from the Gatteville Lighthouse to Pointe du Hoc and includes the Vauban towers in the Bay of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue.
The Landes de la Pernelle are among the 35 Espaces Naturels Sensibles in the Manche department and are classified there as heathland.

Culture and History
The former watch post in La Pernelle is partially listed as a historic monument. The listing of 5 May 1975 protects its façades and roofs.
The Manoir d’Ourville in La Pernelle is also partially listed as a historic monument. The protected features are the façades and roofs, the entrance portico, and the portal leading to the garden. It was listed on 3 July 1975.
The Grotto of La Pernelle was created in 1928 in the rock above the church. It contains a statue of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and was designed as an attempt to recreate the Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes.
A popular pilgrimage takes place every year in August at the Grotto of La Pernelle.
The Wn 144 fortification from the Second World War comprises nine documented elements, all nine of which are visible. Its cultural and historical significance is classified as exceptional.
In 1943, a Regelbau 608-type shelter was built in La Pernelle to accommodate the staff of Grenadier Regiment 729, commanded by Colonel Helmuth Rohrbach. The structure is in very good condition.
The bell tower of the Sainte-Pétronille church has been listed as a historic monument since 5 May 1975.
Hiking
The “Panorama sur le Val de Saire” hiking trail is an easy 5.8 km circular route with 131 metres of elevation gain. It starts and ends at the La Pernelle viewpoint.
The “La Vigie du Val de Saire” hiking trail starts at the Sainte-Pétronille church in La Pernelle.
The “La Vigie du Val de Saire” trail is not served by the Cap Cotentin bus network. It can be reached by car; there is a car park near the starting point.
