La Croix-Avranchin has been a heavily frequented transit point since protohistory. According to local tradition, La Croix-Avranchin was the first Christianized place in the Avranchin. The Église Sainte-Trinité is located in the village. Its northern side altar, with two steps, two altar tables, and a reredos, has been officially listed as movable cultural heritage since December 22, 1979.
