Culture and History
The history of Cerisy-La-Forêt includes the Abbaye de Cerisy-la-Forêt, which dates from the 13th and 15th centuries, as well as the Chapelle Saint-Gerbold, also known as the “Chapelle de l’abbé”, from the 13th century.
The Musée de l’Abbaye has been designated a “Musée de France” since 17 September 2003. Its collections include archaeological objects and remains belonging to the abbey or discovered during the restoration of the building.
The musée lapidaire of the Abbaye de Cerisy-la-Forêt displays fragments of statues and a collection of decorated floor coverings from the 14th and 15th centuries. The Parc de sculptures, which presents international sculptures, is located directly next to the abbey.

The Route des Abbayes is a 155-kilometre riding route from Cerisy-la-Forêt to Mont-Saint-Michel. Its first stage leads from Cerisy-la-Forêt to Saint-Fromond.
The “Autour de l'abbaye de Cerisy-La-Forêt” walking route starts at the Place de l'Abbaye de Cerisy-la-Forêt.
The Lavoir du Pont Tannerie can be seen along the walking route near Cerisy-la-Forêt, in an area rich in flowers.
