Boisroger: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The listed sculpture group “Saint Roch, l'ange et le chien” is located in the Église Saint-Nicolas in Boisroger. It is made of carved, polychrome-painted limestone. Anyone planning a stay in Boisroger may wish to rent a holiday apartment. The Gîte de Boisroger is housed in a fully renovated former 19th-century presbytery and has five bedrooms, including an accessible bedroom on the ground floor.
Culture
The Église Saint-Nicolas also contains an altarpiece and a tabernacle dating from around 1717. The altar and its ornaments were restored in 1878 and 1907. The “Saint évêque” statue dates from the 17th century.
The cemetery cross stands southwest of the Église Saint-Nicolas. Its stepped base, pedestal, shaft and cross appear to have been made from a single block of granite. The northern chapel, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was built in 1838. A former 12th-century Saint-Benoît priory is located next to the Église Saint-Nicolas.
A church is documented in Boisroger for the year 1139; it is uncertain whether it corresponds to the present Église Saint-Nicolas. The church contains Stations of the Cross. The Église Saint-Nicolas is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hiking
The municipal summer hiking programme for 2026 took place on Wednesdays and included one date in Boisroger. A hiking route in nearby Gouville-sur-Mer uses the PR26. The Circuit 6 loop follows the GR 223 along the coast and then heads inland to Boisroger.
Nearby Gouville-sur-Mer has a 6-kilometre sandy beach lined with dunes. The colourful beach cabins stand there along the crest of the dunes. Also in nearby Gouville-sur-Mer, the Cabane Vauban was built from granite and slate from 1744 onwards as a watch house for customs officers.
Flour is sold on site at the Moulin de Gouville during opening hours.
