Peyregoux: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre in Peyregoux was listed as a Monument historique by decree dated 20 August 2008. The chancel contains surviving Romanesque structural remains from the second half of the 12th century. The church received new painted furnishings in 1884–1885, attributed to Jacques and Paul Pauthe.

The ditches of Peyregoux’s medieval village fort were supplied with water by the nearby Bagas.

Nature

The Bagas flows through Peyregoux, is 21.1 kilometres long, rises in the municipality of Montfa and flows into the Agout from the right bank at Vielmur-sur-Agout.

The 44-kilometre voie verte “Les Chemins des Droits de l’Homme” also runs through the area around Peyregoux, along a former railway line between Albi and Castres. The route is open to all non-motorised users as a 3-metre-wide, surfaced gravel track.

Food and Drink

Sabotage Craftbeer, a craft brewery, is located in the eco-village of Guilde Laroque in Peyregoux. It brews craft beers on site using grain from the farm; Sabotage Craftbeer also produces craft cider. Tastings are available on site, and farm products are sold in the shop on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m.

Les Jardins de Midgard, a community vegetable-growing operation covering 3 hectares in Peyregoux, is another local producer. Vegetables and beer are sold directly from the farm there on Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m.

Markets

The Laroque Guild Market takes place every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at 328 Chemin de la Roque in Peyregoux.
