The Château de Massaguel is partially protected as a historic monument. The listing by decree of 4 October 1972 covers the façades and roofs of the château and outbuildings, the entrance portal, the interior staircase, as well as the dining room, the large salon and the music salon on the first floor, including their furnishings.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Jean also preserves tangible historical and artistic traces: the choir contains a mural created around 1960 by the monk and artist Père Dom Robert. The glass-panel windows were made by Père Ephrem, while the western side portal bears the year 1619.
During the Wars of Religion, the Château de Massaguel was a Protestant fortress and was repeatedly contested by the two sides.

Trails and Nature
The Sentier Dom Robert is 12 km long, takes around four hours to walk and has an elevation difference of 340 m. Its route climbs uphill to La Capelette, descends towards Dourgne, passes abbeys and then returns to Massaguel.
Wild grasses, butterflies, birds of prey, songbirds, livestock and meadows can be observed along the Sentier Dom Robert.
The municipality offers the Sentier de la Capelette Saint Ferréol as a walking route for discovering the village of Massaguel.
