Culture and History
In October 1260, a charter was granted in Florentin that conferred freedoms and privileges. Before the French Revolution, the Salle des Consuls was the seat of power. The present appearance of Florentin Church is shaped primarily by the second half of the 19th century. Its choir was narrower than the nave and featured a ribbed vault. In addition, a fortified castle surrounded by walls was built in Florentin.
The windmill of Florentin is a typical structure of the region and dates from the 16th or 17th century. The Moulin à vent de Florentin is built of brick and limestone, dates from the 17th century and is one of the last remaining windmills in the Tarn.
