Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Étienne is a 13th-century building with stained-glass windows. The Château de Cuq is located on the Cuq plateau and is one of the structures still visible there today; part of it was destroyed by fire in 1565.

Nature

Cuq is a rural municipality extending across a plain and hilly countryside. Forests cover 20 percent of Cuq’s area.

The ZNIEFF “Bois de Rousieux et de Cabanac” is known for its wealth of animal species and includes, among others, protected bird species. The study area of the Cuq-Serviès wind farm lies entirely within the Type I ZNIEFF “Bois de Rousieux et de Cabanac” and is predominantly covered by stands of coniferous and deciduous trees.

Paths and Activities

The Circuit des Devèzes is a 10-kilometre route through Serviès and Cuq and is one of the local hiking trails. Information about the hiking trails is available from the tourist offices and online.

Cuq’s rural landscape invites visitors to enjoy walks.

The IDRR offers guided tours at the foot of the wind turbines of the Cuq-Serviès wind farm, covering the properties of wind.

Cycling

The Véloroute de la Vallée de l’Agout crosses the D92 at La Mouline in Cuq.
