Nature and Trails
The Chemin des Moines is a marked circular hiking trail in Castanet. Its route passes through a small-scale landscape of cultivated areas, woodland, vineyards, paths and traditional buildings.
For six centuries, the monks of Bonnecombe Abbey used this path to transport anise, grain, coriander, woad and saffron.
The wider regional surroundings of Castanet include the Roc d'Anglars, a summit.
Near the village church, the Aire de pique-nique de Castanet offers a shaded table for resting or eating outdoors.

Wine
At the Domaine de Labarthe, visitors are welcomed throughout the year by appointment for tours and wine tastings. Domaine de Labarthe is a 68-hectare family estate that has been passed down through generations since 1550. It is one of the few wineries to highlight Verdanel, an almost vanished white grape variety from the Gaillac wine-growing region.
The Domaine de Brin is located in the Gaillac AOC area on a clay-limestone plateau surrounded by oak forests. In Castanet, it offers tours of the estate and wine tastings; it also uses organic farming and natural winemaking methods.
Culture
The Musée Toulouse-Lautrec is a museum in the wider regional surroundings of Castanet. Also located in the wider regional surroundings is the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Candeil, a historic site.
The Église Sainte-Madeleine and the Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile, both churches, are located near Castanet. Also nearby are the Jardins du Palais de la Berbie and the Jardin National, both gardens, as well as the Parc de Rochegude, a park.
