History and townscape

The Church of Saint-Gervais et Saint-Protais dates from the 18th century. It was destroyed in 1561 and rebuilt on the same site in 1772.

Gallo-Roman archaeological remains have been discovered on the Grand-Rue in Sérignac and at Le Pastissé, including pottery fragments, coins, and fragments of roof tiles and bricks from the first years of the Christian era, years 1 and 2. The main construction phases of the documented houses in Sérignac date from the 18th and 19th centuries.

The former fortifications of Sérignac fell into disrepair at the end of the 16th century. The Fontaine and Lavoir de Sérignac have been restored.
