Culture and history
The Église Notre-Dame is built of brick and has a bell wall supported by buttresses. With the exception of the parts already classified, it was listed as a historic monument by decree of 26 March 1934; its bell wall was classified by decree of 4 October 1951.
Those who have chosen Bouillac as a travel destination may perhaps want to rent a holiday apartment there.
The parish church of Bouillac is currently closed due to construction work. The reliquaries and the reliquary of the Holy Thorn were brought to the church of Bouillac at the end of February 1791.
Historical traces
The former Cistercian abbey of Grandselve in Bouillac dates back to 1114. Grandselve was one of the largest Cistercian abbeys in southern France.
Only the porterie, the entrance gate, of the former Grandselve Abbey remains visible. Free guided tours are offered on the site of the former Grandselve Abbey.
The medieval tiles of Grandselve were made on site around 1280 by a travelling workshop. Fifty capitals are attributed to the cloisters of Grandselve.
A lapidary museum was established to house architectural fragments from Grandselve Abbey, including capitals, columns, stones and tiles.
