History

In 1283, Saint Jean d’Olmières was part of the Diocese of Agen. The remains of the Church of Saint Martin de Sept-Albres and the cemetery can be seen at this site; a memorial plaque commemorates it.

The Church of Saint Hilaire dates from the late 15th century, was rebuilt several times and was an annexe of Saint-Pierre de Pervillac. The former Church of Saint Martin de Sept Albres was pre-Romanesque and a very old sanctuary; its origins are associated with a Celtic site dedicated to tree worship. It was destroyed in 1969.

Walking Trails

A mass is celebrated at the remains of Saint Martin de Sept-Albres on 15 August.
