Culture and History

At the Église Saint-Georges, parts of the nave walls may date from the late 12th or early 13th century. The church’s south chapel houses the Retable de la Vierge. Its lower sections – pedestal, altar and altar step – date from the 19th century. The side panels depict scenes from the Passion of Christ: Christ on the Mount of Olives, the Flagellation, Christ on the way to the soldiers and the Veil of Saint Veronica.

The Église Saint-Georges contains 600 m² of Romanesque frescoes covering all the interior walls. The nave, decorated in the 18th century, imitates a tapestry with calligraphic motifs.
