The Château Vieux archaeological site was abandoned at the end of the 15th century, after the castle had been destroyed or abandoned during the Hundred Years’ War.

The remains of Château Vieux that are visible today include a restored rocky platform approximately 30 metres in diameter. Several buildings within a polygonal enclosure were also identified at Château Vieux. It was separated by a moat and accessed via a drawbridge.
