History

The parish church of Saint-Barthélemy in Gindou may date back to a Romanesque church from the second half of the 12th century; the apse and part of the chancel bay have survived from it. The original chancel vault was replaced by a rib vault at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th century. The bell tower may not be older than the modern period, while the nave and side chapels probably date from the 19th century.
