Culture and History

The Fontaine de La Briguerie is located in the La Briguerie area of Belmontet, on the RD 4. It forms a complete ensemble consisting of a fountain, washhouse and cattle trough, and was restored in 2021–2022. In the past, a hydraulic ram was used there to pump water uphill to supply the hamlet.

The Ermitage des Petits Frères des Pauvres in the Laplagne area of Belmontet is a protected heritage site; a washhouse is located below it.

The Château de Ladevie can be seen from the road. The château includes outbuildings, a dovecote and a gatehouse tower behind an enclosing wall.

The Église Saint-Avit de Belmontet also preserves architectural elements from several centuries: the square-ended chancel dates from the late 12th or early 13th century, while the west portal and vaults date from the second half of the 15th century. The church was restored in the 19th century; during this work, the north chapel was partially rebuilt and a south chapel was added.
