Uz: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Chapelle de Pouey-Aspe was built in the 19th century on the site of the hermitage of Saint Savin. From Uz, it can only be reached via a marked hiking trail, which involves tackling around 300 metres of elevation gain and approximately 45 minutes of walking.

Anyone wishing to stay overnight in Uz can rent a holiday apartment.

Hiking

The Le Chemin des Chapelles trail passes through Uz; its ascent begins at the village washhouse and continues through the forest. On the way back, Le Chemin des Chapelles leaves the forest and leads through heather and ferns, opening up views of the surrounding peaks.

A variant of the L'Ancien chemin des facteurs trail provides access to the Chapelle de Pouyaspé from the village washhouse. L'Ancien chemin des facteurs crosses the small Col de Pourtesous and then descends through the remains of an old slate quarry. On the section towards Uz, the trail passes meadows and a barn before ascending through the forest after a footbridge.

Mountain biking

The Circuit VTT n°5 – Vallée d'Argelès – Le Grand Tour de Vallée mountain-bike route passes through Uz and forms part of a loop through the Vallée d'Argelès. The route consists of 75% single tracks, 15% trails and 10% roads.

Nature

The peaks of Pic d'Escorne-Crabe, Pic Arraillé and Soum de Lat Dessus are located in the immediate vicinity of Uz. The Pic de Cabaliros peak is also located in the surrounding area of Uz.

Culture

The historic site of Abbaye Saint-Savin-en-Lavedan is located in the immediate vicinity of Uz. Château Fort and the historic site Maison paternelle de Bernadette are located in the surrounding area of Uz. The Monastere de Marie-Immaculee, Reine du Rosaire monastery is located in the wider region around Uz.
