Culture and History
The Chapelle Saint Roch is located approximately 100 metres west of the site of a former château and may once have belonged to it. The chapel consists of two distinct structures.
According to a local legend, the statue of Saint Roch was carved from oak that had lain in the stream below the chapel for more than 100 years.
Saint John the Baptist is the patron saint of Fontrailles; his feast day as a martyr is 29 August. The Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church dates from the 17th to the 18th century and has two side chapels.
During the renovation of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, its pebble façade was uncovered and particularly highlighted through the work of the craftsmen.
A bridge built in 1879 connects the banks of Fontrailles and Duffort.

The Fontrailles circular trail includes a visit to the Chapelle Saint Roch. The circular trail also passes through the forests around Fontrailles and Bernadets-Débat.
Lac de Fontrailles
Lac de Fontrailles was used as a fishing spot. Walks are possible at Lac de Fontrailles.
The lake was also used as a picnic area.
