Culture and history
The church of Escoubès is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Its late 15th-century lintel is decorated with unusual sculptures and was listed as a Monument historique in July 1907.
Pouts is home to a single-nave church dedicated to Saint Peter, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Inside, there is a Baroque tabernacle made of gilded wood, crowned by a small canopy.
The local history includes the Moulin d’Escoubès, located at a water intake on the right bank of the Échez. Grain milling ended in 1965 for wheat and in 1983 for maize. François Soubirous, Bernadette’s father, worked there from October 1855 to April 1856.

The washhouse at the entrance to the village also served as a forge and farrier’s workshop and is used as a reserve of water for firefighting. A spring serves as a washing place, a watering trough for livestock and a Leyté for cooling milk.
There used to be a mountain bike trail in Escoubès-Pouts.
