Camparan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Camparan lies below the wooded ridge of Bois de Pale between the Aure Valley and the Louron Valley. In the centre of the village stands the present-day Sainte-Luce, Saint-Vincent Church, built between 1846 and 1848. Culture

The bell-tower porch of the Sainte-Luce, Saint-Vincent Church was built between 1869 and 1872. Camparan’s townscape is characterised by sloping streets and long slate roofs. Maison Biau is considered a traditional house in Camparan. The old wine presses in Camparan are also considered rare.

History

On the slope between the village of Camparan and the communal high-altitude pastures lie the Granges foraines du Val. They comprise around fifteen barns and date mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. The barns in Camparan were used to store hay and as shelter for the livestock that grazed in the surrounding area in spring and autumn.

Camparan is a starting point for hikes to the peaks. From Camparan, there is a view of Pyrénées2vallées.
