Nature
Part of the ZNIEFF area Bois de Rebisclou et Souyeaux lies within Boulin. The section of Bois de Rebisclou et Souyeaux located here belongs to an extensive, continuous deciduous forest area in the first hills east of Tarbes. The wooded slopes of the Ousse Valley near Boulin form an ecological corridor; the riparian vegetation along the Ruisseau de Loulès, together with adjacent woodland, also forms a fragmented ecological corridor.
Rue de la Tour d’Oléac offers wide views towards the Pyrenees. Chemin de l’Ousse can be reached from the RD119 via VC No. 3 and continues in the direction of Aureilhan.
Culture
The Église Saint-Barthélemy, a local heritage site, stands on Route de Tarbes, 65350 Boulin. The building resembles a small chapel more than a church in the strict sense and has been renovated inside and out. In addition, the Église Saint-Barthélemy may originally have been the chapel of the former manor house opposite.
Traditional buildings also form part of the local character: they are arranged in an L-shape and enclose a courtyard as a transition to the public space.
Winegrowing
Vines have been planted again for several years on Boulin’s former winegrowing areas. During historic grape harvests on the slopes of Boulin and Pouyastruc, a commission consisting of the mayor, the priest, the person responsible for the Mass, and several citizens determined the beginning of the grape harvest, the “ban des vendanges”.
