Culture
The tumulus of l'Estaque has been classified as a historic monument since 26 January 1970. The protected tumulus is associated with the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age. Avezac-Prat-Lahitte is also home to a significant protohistoric necropolis from the Iron Age with several tumuli, some of which are classified as historic monuments.
The medieval Tour d'Avezac towers over the village, and its base is accessible. The municipality of Avezac restored it in 1997. It is considered the remains of a fortified site around which the village developed; its square shape suggests that it was built in the 12th century.
The village church is a 15th-century church that was remodelled later and is particularly notable for a Baroque retable from the 18th century, which is classified as a historic monument. At the centre of Avezac's monumental retable stands Saint Bartholomew, the parish patron saint, beneath the Virgin Mary.
The Rencon'Trad festival returns to Avezac every year at the end of July, combining music, dances, balls, concerts, meals and encounters.
Hiking
The D'Avezac à Prat hiking route takes four hours, is 12 kilometres long and involves 450 metres of ascent. It combines views of the Pic du Midi with the medieval tower, a fountain and the church of Avezac.
