Nature and Trails
The Lakes Circuit begins in Troncens. It is an easy, 8.0 km PR-type walking route. The trail crosses the Cabournieu stream over a bridge. Its starting point is behind the town hall: pass through a gate and follow the trail.
The Lakes Circuit runs through a forest and then along a paved local road beside Lake Monpardiac. It also passes the foot of a lake dam and continues along the edge of a meadow to the village of St Alary. The route leads through gently rolling landscapes. Along the Lakes Circuit, Lake Monpardiac offers a peaceful and unspoilt natural setting.
Culture and History
The northern church of Troncens is now the parish church; formerly, it was the castle chapel. The parish church stands in the centre of Troncens near the town hall and below the site of the former castle.
The steeple of the parish church was built in 1895–1896, replacing an earlier five-metre-high steeple. The southern church of Troncens contains structural elements dating back at least to the 11th century. Its southern portal is decorated with a Christogram.
Agriculture
Vergers Daguzan in Troncens produces hazelnuts and organic apples. The farm opens its doors to visitors and offers walks through the orchards, insights into organic farming and tastings.
During the guided tour, visitors follow the producer through the rows of hazelnut and apple trees. The orchard tour ends with tastings of hazelnuts and homemade apple juice. Tours of Vergers Daguzan are available by appointment.
