Culture
Every year on 7 June, former combatants, residents and authorities gather at the Mémorial de Panjas for a commemorative event. It commemorates a significant event in the history of the Resistance in the Gers.
The Arènes de Panjas are among the defining cultural sites. This historic venue is used for Course Landaise and is known as the “Arènes Jean-Mongis”. Its arena is rectangular and can accommodate around 200 people.
The patronal festival also has a fixed date in the annual calendar: it takes place every year on the first weekend of August and features traditional Courses Landaises.
Wine and Regional Tradition
At Domaine de Joÿ, the wine cellars can be visited by prior appointment. Visits and tastings are free of charge there. Domaine de Joÿ has been a family business in Bas-Armagnac for four generations and produces white wines and Armagnac brandies.
