Panassac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Motte féodale du Tuco was classified as a historic monument at the end of the 1970s. Partial excavations were carried out there in 1853 and 1881: in 1853 by Eugène Lasserre, the justice of the peace of the Masseube canton, and in 1881 by the prehistorian Louis Lartet. The earthwork behind the church of Panassac may also have supported a castle. Another earthwork with an outer bailey behind the church of Panassac borders the Gers Valley.

The Église de L’Assomption de Panassac was rebuilt in 1813 on the site of an earlier church, of which only the north chapel remains. It has two windows with stained-glass windows depicting St-Jean Bosco in the north and L’Apparition à Lourdes in the south. Four round-arched arcades lead to the chapels in the north and south, while a pulpit bears the signature of Guy Calcret from 1816. During the restoration of the church in 1992, an older decorative scheme was discovered, secured again, and restored.

The municipal swimming pool of Panassac offers the Le Grillon aquatic area. Le Grillon is considered the first municipal swimming pool at departmental level. The Digue du Gers in Panassac is a peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

In the vicinity of Panassac are the Château de Loubersan, a castle, and the Abbaye de la Bénisson-Dieu, a historic site.
