Cazaux-Savès combines distinctive architecture with landscapes and paths along the Save. The Château de Caumont is a listed Renaissance château. It can only be visited as part of a guided tour; the grounds of the Château de Caumont, however, are accessible for a self-guided walk.
Culture
The Château de Caumont estate covers 50 hectares of woodland and agricultural land and offers spectacular views of the nearby Pyrenees.
The Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Church in Cazaux-Savès dates largely from the 18th century and was restored in the 20th century. Its porch has seven arches and is topped by a bell gable. A chapel in one of the southern bays contains gravestones of several people who lived at the Château de Caumont in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Nature and Trails
The 39.8-kilometre e-bike circular route “Crêtes et arêtes – En Couleurs sur les Coteaux du Savès” passes through Cazaux-Savès via the Route de l’Antin.
The marked 8.5-kilometre circular route “Le long de la Save” is designated as a hiking trail.
In Cazaux-Savès, there is a fishing spot on the Save near a waterfall that is popular with anglers.
Local Life
The village festival of Cazaux-Savès takes place every year on the last weekend of June.
