Cazaubon: Holiday apartments and houses

History and culture

Cazaubon has been documented as a fortified town since the 13th century. The Church of Saint-Pierre in Barbotan dates partly from the late Middle Ages and was rebuilt in the first half of the 16th century.

The Porte de ville de Barbotan was listed as a historic monument by decree of 16 February 1926. The portal of the Church of Saint-Pierre in Barbotan has been listed as a historic monument since 1925.

The Porte d’Uzan is located on Rue de la Brèche, amid the medieval streets of Cazaubon.

Nature and trails

Lac de l’Uby is part of the Vallée de l’Uby natural area, covers 80 hectares and features remarkable surroundings with terrestrial, ornithological and aquatic fauna.

The Chemin de Tavernes et du Marais runs between marshes and forests along the border between the Gers and Landes départements.

Activities

The Parc de Loisirs du Lac de l’Uby offers supervised swimming in a 700 m² pool in July and August. Stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boating and canoeing are also available there.

Lac de l’Uby hosts various sporting events, including the Régates de Cazaubon.

The Barbotan thermal spa specialises in rheumatology and phlebology. The Barbotan thermal spring was already used by the Romans in antiquity.
