Arblade-le-Bas: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Arblade-le-Bas combines a distinctive religious building with the history of the Way of St James. The Church of Saint Martin in Arblade-le-Bas is dedicated to Saint Martin, dates from the 13th century and welcomes pilgrims on the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela every year. It is closed and can only be viewed from the outside.

History
The Hospital of Cosset was founded around 1118 by the Templars of Manciet between the hills of Arblade-le-Bas, Vergoignan and Bernède. It offered pilgrims on the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela the right to accommodation. The historic townscape also includes the former feudal castle of Arblade-le-Bas, which preserves traces of moats and a former drawbridge and is visible from the road. The village centre is grouped around the remains of a fortified castle built in the Gascon style.
Landscape
Arblade-le-Bas is situated on a hill with beautiful views over Gascony. There is a covered picnic area near the community hall.
Routes
The GR65, also known as the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela via Le Puy-en-Velay, crosses the tourist area for around 20 kilometres from Arblade-le-Bas to Latrille. Rural Route No. 1 follows the old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, which is no longer passable today. Pilgrims now use the road instead of the old route to Santiago de Compostela.
The “Rando douce - LEN” circular route runs for approximately one quarter on paved surfaces and three quarters on grassy paths and forest tracks. It starts and ends at the town hall car park.
