The Church of Saint-Sépulcre houses 14th-century wall paintings, including the fresco scene known as “Pendu Dépendu”, which is associated with the pilgrimage to Compostela. Its floor plan was inspired by the Basilica of Jerusalem; at the same time, the church combines Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Sépulcre is included in classic, sensory and night-time guided tours. Guided tours in Villeneuve also include the Sauveté, the bastide and the historic church with Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements, as well as 14th-century frescoes.

The Jean-Marie Périer Gallery presents a permanent exhibition with 200 photographs, as well as a one-hour film about the photographer’s personal life. It is housed in a medieval building from the 14th century that was formerly known as Maison du Mazel.

The Church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul of Toulongergues can be visited in summer and during the European Heritage Days as part of guided tours. In July and August, a guided tour takes place every Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Anyone wishing to combine a visit to Villeneuve with a visit to the Church of Saint-Sépulcre can rent a holiday apartment.
