History and culture

The Church of Saint-Géraud in Concourès was formerly a priory of the Benedictine Abbey of Aurillac. The present church was created through restoration and reconstruction campaigns in the third quarter of the 19th century. Surviving parts of its medieval bell tower may date from the second half of the 12th century.

The layout of the Church of Saint-Barnabé in Sébazac appears to date from the late 15th or early 16th century. Above the two chapels are two levels of refuge chambers.

The prehistoric site of Rescoundudou bears witness to the settlement of the area by Neanderthals between 115,000 and 80,000 years ago. Since 9 February 1993, the site has been partially protected as a historic monument and is one of the attractions of Onet-l’Église.

Trails and landscapes

The Le nord de Sébazac-Concourès route follows a small winding path between Visigothic tombs. Halfway between Sébazac and Lioujas, it offers a view of Plomb du Cantal.
