History

After the war, a Belgian family settled in Saujac and donated the Croix des Belges in memory of the families who had helped them.

The Croix des Belges commemorates Belgian families who had to leave their homeland in May 1940 during the German occupation and were taken in at a farm in Toulonjac.

The village's attractions also include Saujac's old washhouses.

Landscape

The Saut de la Mounine is located on the D127 in 12260 Saujac.

The Saut de la Mounine is a viewpoint on the Causse. From there, you can look out over the alluvial plain 150 m below and the rocky ledges of the Causse de Gréalou.

The village of Montbrun and its castle can be seen from the Saut de la Mounine viewpoint.

The circular hiking trail “Circuit sur les hauteurs de la Vallée du Lot – Saujac” leads to the viewpoints at the Croix des Belges and the Saut de la Mounine. The trail is 9.7 km long, takes approximately three hours, and starts in front of Saujac Town Hall.
