Culture and History
A half-timbered house in Prévinquières dates from 1451. Le Tinal is a typical half-timbered building from the 15th and 16th centuries.
The original Church of Saint-Martin is mentioned in a cartulary of Conques Abbey dating from 976. The Church of Saint-Martin was also studied as part of the investigation into the group of pre-Romanesque churches with rounded corners in the Rouergue.
Prévinquières is home to a former tall square tower with a gateway on its southern side. This gateway leads into the village belonging to the “small château”. A defensive tower and its portal have also been preserved as remnants of the 15th-century fortifications.
Nature and Activities
The Oreilles en balade route can be followed on site by scanning QR codes. The interpretive trail along the banks of the Aveyron is located in the municipality of Prévinquières and provides hikers with resources for discovering the local fauna and flora of the natural riverside environment.
At the Calvaire, an orientation table overlooks the Aveyron Valley; it was created above the medieval village. The La Mouline recreational area on the banks of the Aveyron provides space for picnics and relaxation.
The Buobe floodplain on the Aveyron was specially developed for anglers. It has an accessible fishing platform bearing the “Tourisme et Handicap” label, as well as a table for people with reduced mobility.
An easy 10.35 km circular route for mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes runs through the municipality of Prévinquières over the heights of the Aveyron Valley and passes through the La Mouline recreational area on the banks of the Aveyron. The elevation gain is 364 m.
