Noailhac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The GR 65, also known as the Via Podiensis or Route du Puy-en-Velay, passes through Noailhac. The route is a pilgrimage trail to Santiago de Compostela.

Trails

The Noailhac–Rébouscou hiking trail begins and ends in the village square of Noailhac, opposite the church. The Stations of the Cross in Noailhac date from 1934 and are among the few Stations of the Cross still preserved along the GR 65.

Churches and Chapels

The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Noailhac was rebuilt in the first half of the 18th century. Its high altar reredos contains a painting of the Crucifixion as well as gilded wooden statues of John the Baptist and Saint Peter.

The Saint-Roch Chapel was built outside the village of Noailhac on a hill and solemnly blessed on 16 August 1884. It is a popular stop for pilgrims on the Way of Saint James and offers them a panoramic view. The Saint-Roch Chapel in Noailhac contains two contemporary stained-glass windows designed by master glazier Victor Loup Deniau.

The annual pilgrimage to Saint-Roch takes place on 16 August and ends with an open-air mass in front of the chapel. The municipal stage gîte in Noailhac provides accommodation for pilgrims on the Way of Saint James.

The tradition of the Noailhac fair includes a breakfast featuring “chevreau à l’oseille”.

The historic site of Abbaye Sainte-Foy de Conques is located in the immediate vicinity of Noailhac. Château de Jalenques is located in the vicinity of Noailhac.
