Culture and History
The Château de Lugans has been known since the 13th century. Its square layout encloses a long, narrow courtyard; the building complex includes a round tower, a partially integrated square tower, and two small corner turrets.
The façades and roofs of the Château de Lugans and its outbuildings, the terraces with their staircases, and the park have been partially protected as historic monuments by the decree of June 18, 1986. The Dolmen de la Vernhiette has been classified as a historic monument since July 12, 1989.
The church of Lissirou was completed in 1849 and restored in 2000. The historic site of the Prieuré de la Bénissons-Dieu-de-la-Falque is also located near Gaillac-d'Aveyron. The ancient site of Roquemissou lies in the wider regional area surrounding Gaillac-d'Aveyron. The Château de Triadou and the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Bonneval are also located there.
