The Circuit de Sainte Marthe is an easy, 7 km circular hike lasting approximately two hours, with 230 metres of elevation gain. The trail crosses a footbridge and passes through wooded sections before climbing back up to the plateau.

Culture and History

The Musée de la Résistance has been established in the Romanesque chapel of the fortified site of Villelongue. The museum displays information panels, archival documents, weapons and military artefacts.

The Eglise Ste Marthe has a Romanesque semicircular apse ending with 22 corbels dating from the 12th century.

The ruins of the medieval castle of Villelongue overlook the valley; a picnic area next to the ruins is recommended. During the Occupation, the Maquis Antoine operated in the region and found refuge there.

For groups, visits to the Chapelle de Villelongue – Musée de la Résistance can be arranged throughout the year by appointment. At the foot of the Chapelle de Villelongue runs the driving route Les panoramas du Ségala.
