Culture and History
The present-day Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church in Villeneuve-d'Olmes has a single-nave nave, three side chapels on the southern side, a western tower bell tower and a semicircular apse. It also has eleven stained-glass windows dating from the early 20th century.
By the beginning of the 15th century at the latest, the Lords of Lévis had constructed a supply canal that diverted water from the Touyre and returned it after use.
The Calvary can be reached from the old centre of Villeneuve-d'Olmes by continuing towards Bénaix after the bridge. A cross was erected on this site on 18 April 1851, and has been known as “le calvaire” ever since.
