Trémoulet: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The Rallye Ane is designed as a hiking rally for families or friends. Along its route, there are games and puzzles about the accompanying donkey or the region. The donkeys carry luggage and picnics in their saddle bags.

Nature

Part of Trémoulet's municipal territory belongs to the Natura 2000 protected area “Garonne, Ariège, Hers, Salat, Pique et Neste”. This Natura 2000 protected area is designated as Special Area of Conservation FR 7301822.

The ZNIEFF along the Hers River encompasses the river course as well as well-preserved sections of the floodplain with riverside woodland, meadows and gravel pits. The significant natural assets of the Hers ZNIEFF include the European otter (Lutra lutra) and the Pyrenean desman (Galemys pyrenaicus). The municipality of Trémoulet is listed in the ZNIEFF for the Hers River as one of the administratively affected municipalities.

Culture

The church in Trémoulet was built in the 10th century. It was first officially mentioned in 1225 in a papal bull issued by Honorius III. During work on the church, stones were discovered behind the plaster and ornamental painting. The church was renovated in 1862, and its roof was replaced in 2002.

Village Life

Trémoulet's village festival took place in 2023 and 2024. The 2024 edition featured a three-day programme with a concert, a DJ and fireworks.

Cuisine

“Trémoule grise” and “trémoule orangée” are local names for porcini mushrooms. They grow in forests of aspen, hornbeam and birch.
