History
In the 13th century, Tabre belonged to the Lords of Lévis-Mirepoix. After the family split in 1329, Tabre passed to the Lévis-Léran branch. Tabre remained under the rule of this branch until the French Revolution.
Historically, the inhabitants of Tabre had to go to Laroque d’Olmes to attend church, as Tabre did not have a church. The original settlement of Tabre was probably limited to the present-day village centre; Tabre has a renovated village centre.
In 1855, a project for a new fountain, estimated at 500 francs, was approved in Tabre. The fountain was intended to meet the needs of the inhabitants and their livestock. The fountain and livestock trough in Tabre were crowned by a masonry structure and a parapet.

The Pyrén’io meat-cutting workshop in Tabre offers regional products from the Pays d’Olmes. Pyrén’io stocks beef, veal, lamb and pork, minced-steak patties, barbecue products, fresh sausages, canned goods and prepared dishes.
Trails
The Sentier de Peyreblanca leads into the municipality of Tabre and connects Tabre with Limbrassac. Along its route, it offers views over the Pays d’Olmes and the Saint-Barthélemy Massif.
