Malegoude: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
By 1062 at the latest, Malegoude had a fortified castle, which was probably located at the site of the “fume du Castélas”. The “force de Malegoude” is documented in a charter from 1207 and is presumably interpreted as a small fortified structure.

Landscape
The Razès de Mirepoix area includes the municipality of Malegoude; its eastern part has several hill basins in the area around Malegoude and Sainte-Foi. The area to which Malegoude belongs has been classified as a “site inscrit” under the 1930 law and designated as a site under the Habitats Directive. It features orchid-rich dry grasslands, Mediterranean-influenced evergreen shrubland, forests and woodland edges, rocks, and a network of water bodies. Malegoude offers panoramic views of the Pyrenees mountain range.
Culture
The Sainte-Marie Church stands away from the village of Malegoude and has been mentioned in written records since 1318. Its apse is probably of Romanesque origin. At the church, the façade design and some floor plans point in particular to contributions from the 19th century.
Malegoude is considered a very dispersed village without streets. Until the phylloxera crisis put an end to this economic activity at the beginning of the 20th century, Malegoude was a wine-growing municipality.
