Bélesta: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The communal forest of Bélesta is a coniferous forest that extends over more than 1,000 hectares to the Plateau de Sault.

Nature

The intermittent Fontestorbes spring flows continuously for seven to nine months during most of the year. During the low-water period from July to September, the Fontestorbes spring becomes intermittent and follows a cycle of approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

The circular hiking trail through the communal forest of Bélesta is 15.1 kilometres long and begins in Bélesta.

Culture

The parish church of Saint Blaise in Bélesta dates from 1550 to 1559. The Church of Saint Blaise features an altarpiece and stained-glass windows.

At Pentecost, a procession is held in Bélesta during which reliquaries containing the relics of Saint Blaise are carried to the Val d’Amour. Poterie Gérard Gourdel sells handmade glazed pottery in a shop that is open all year round in the centre of Bélesta, opposite the market hall.

Activities

Crapahut Parc Aventure is located on a natural site covering more than 4 hectares in the Fontestorbes forest and offers eight courses for visitors aged 4 and over. Crapahut Parc Aventure also offers an escape game and a large-scale outdoor laser game.

The Gouffre des Corbeaux can be viewed from a footbridge built above the chasm. The Gouffre des Corbeaux can be experienced on a 45-minute family circular walk.

A one-day caving activity is offered in the Bélesta forest, taking participants into the Gouffre des Corbeaux.

The meeting point for the caving activity is at the village square in Bélesta, 09300 Bélesta. The ruins of the Château d’Amont can be reached via a small footpath on the edge of a residential area.
