Culture and History
The Chapelle Saint-Quirin was restored in the early 2000s. Inside, there is a set of nine oak benches for worshippers dating from the 18th century. In front of the chapel stands a calvary cross that is the tomb monument of the last monk of Mureau Abbey, who died in 1817.
Sainte-Marie de Mureau Abbey was built in the first half of the 12th century and belonged to the Premonstratensian order. Its gate was rebuilt in 1683 and consolidated in 2019. The wayside cross was erected in 1813.
Pargny-sous-Mureau also has an 18th-century church that was renovated in 2012. The village is also home to a 19th-century washhouse with an unusual chapel.
