History
The thermal spa in Martigny-les-Bains opened in 1860, one year after its springs received medical recognition. The Pavillon des Sources was built around 1882 as a glazed metal structure with decorative wrought-iron work, listed as a historic monument on November 18, 1987, and classified as such on June 27, 1996. The church is also listed as a Monument historique: this was based on a decree dated March 3, 1926.

The Sentier du Haumont is an easy 8.9-kilometer hiking trail; the stated duration is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it starts in Martigny-les-Bains. The route passes through the former Martigny-les-Bains thermal spa, which experienced its heyday at the beginning of the 20th century and was nicknamed “Le petit Versailles thermal.” It also offers a viewpoint at Haumont.
