History and Culture

The ruins of the Château de Faucompierre are located on Mont Saint-Jean at the eastern end of the Massif de l’Ancerf, at an altitude of around 600 metres. The Château de Faucompierre has been documented since at least the 12th century. The surviving ruins include walls up to 2.40 metres thick.

Walking Trails

“Les balcons de Faucompierre” is a 2.5 kilometre walk in the hills above Faucompierre offering panoramic views. The circular route is signposted with red triangular markers and has a positive elevation gain of 81 metres.

Randoland Faucompierre is a family discovery trail where visitors explore the village using clues and puzzles. The trail is classified as easy. The starting point is listed as the town hall car park at 1 Place Henri-Ferry, 88460 Faucompierre.

By Bicycle

The “VTC°21 - La vallée du papier” route, which begins in Docelles, follows winding minor roads and wide, rideable paths above valleys, alongside coniferous forests and through typical Vosges villages. On a descent, it leads into the village of Faucompierre.
