Woippy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Woippy combines historic paths, old buildings, Moselle landscapes and freely accessible leisure areas. A unique way to discover the town’s history is the Sentier Historique: across six stations, it explores Woippy’s older heritage. The markers are made of Jaumont stone and each feature a historical text and an old photograph of the relevant location.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Woippy can focus their search on this location.
Culture and history
The Sentier Historique can be walked from any starting point and in either direction; the walk takes around one and a half hours. Guided tours are available on request.
The historic buildings include the Château de Woippy, which dates from the 13th to the 14th century, and the Haute Maison, a building from the 15th century. The Société d'Histoire de Woippy organises free conferences. It also runs a historical library in the Rue de Biche, a former music school, which is open to everyone interested in history; books can be borrowed by appointment.
Landscape and nature
Woippy is characterised by hills and floodplains along the Moselle, as well as ponds, including part of the Étangs de Saint-Rémy. The Parc du Pâtis covers 15 hectares. Its enclosures are home to around 30 fallow deer, mouflons and deer.
The Parc du Pâtis is also home to the Labyrinthe végétal, a free maze made up of 500 linear metres of hornbeam hedges.
Water and leisure
Woippy Plage was inaugurated in 2011, covers around 20 hectares and is located between the Parc de Berlange and Saint-Eloi. It has a free bathing area open to everyone, and visitors can go for walks around Woippy Plage. The site also includes a 12-hole mini-golf course.
At Woippy Village, the Centre équestre du Pâtis offers children and adults, with or without disabilities, trail rides, vaulting and Equifeel.
Paths and produce
The Sentier n°6 – Les jardins des Chilloux is a walking route in Woippy where historical and natural features can be discovered. It passes through vegetable gardens whose strawberry cultivation has helped shape Woippy’s reputation and prosperity.
The family-run Potager de Bellevue grows strawberries and asparagus. It uses a careful, seasonal cultivation approach in the open field; most of the produce is sold on the day it is harvested. The fresh products can be tasted directly on site.
